I’M SO GLAD YOU ARE HERE

HI, MY NAME IS EFFIE

My path into therapy began long before graduate school. It actually began through my love and reconnection to dance in my mid twenties. Movement at this later stage in my life became a language that helped me reclaim parts of myself shaped by early wounds and trauma, including my experience as a sexual-assault survivor. Dance gave me a way to return to my body with compassion, power, and expression. It connected me to joy, authenticity, and a sense of aliveness that had once felt distant.

Through years of dancing, I discovered somatic work and felt instantly at home in this body-centered approach. To deepen my skills, I trained in programs with the Strozzi Institute, deepening my understanding of Somatics, Trauma and Resilience building. I also completed an extended certificate in Somatic Coaching. INTHISBODY began as a coaching business, where I worked for several years as a somatic and embodiment coach, helping clients reconnect to their bodies as a source of wisdom, integrity, and possibility.

In 2023, my journey expanded when I found Relational Somatic Healing—a model grounded in the understanding that our lives are shaped through relationship. This modality illuminated how early developmental and attachment wounds impact our sense of self, our connections with others, and the patterns we carry into adulthood. It affirmed what I had felt intuitively for years: that therapy is not just about insight, but about co-creating new embodied experiences of connection, safety, and belonging.

This inspired me to pursue my Master’s in Marriage & Family Therapy, where I learned to integrate somatic wisdom with evidence-based therapeutic interventions. I have worked closely with sexual assault survivors, trauma survivors, teens, young adults, and families navigating crisis—supporting clients through some of the most tender and transformative chapters of their lives.

Beyond my work, I am a lover of the natural world, live music, dance (always), and the quiet rituals of family life with my partner, our dogs, and our son. Nature is one of my greatest teachers. I believe we are an extension of the earth itself, and I often draw on the rhythms and intelligence of the natural world as a guide for healing.

At the heart of my practice is a simple, profound belief: every person deserves a relationship with themselves that feels safe, embodied, and true. My role as a therapist is to walk with you as you reconnect to that inner compass—the one that knows how to heal, how to love, and how to live from your deepest essence.
