ARE YOU DONE WITH CENSORING OR APOLOGIZING FOR YOUR BODY AND THE WAY YOU EXIST IN IT? 

ARE YOU READY TO GIVE YOURSELF THE PERMISSION ONLY YOU CAN GIVE YOURSELF TO STEP INTO YOUR POWER AS A FULLY EMBODIED SEXUAL BEING?

IF SO, THEN I BELIEVE THIS 5 WEEK JOURNEY IS A PROFOUND PLACE TO START.

AS FEMME BODIED AND IDENTIFYING INDIVIDUALS IT IS NOT ALWAYS SAFE OR FREE TO MOVE AND EXIST IN THE WORLD AS OUR MOST EMPOWERED SENSUAL SELVES. OVER OUR LIFETIME WE MAY HAVE INHERITED BELIEFS AND IDEAS ABOUT OUR BODIES AND OUR SEXUALITY THAT SAY - BOTH SHOULD BE RESTRICTED BASED ON THE IDEA THAT BOTH ARE SHAMEFUL AND/OR SHOULD ONLY BE ALLOWED TO BE SHARED AND EXPRESSED IN VERY PARTICULAR WAYS. 

OFTENTIMES WE LEARN TO REACT AND SHAPE OURSELVES ACCORDING TO THESE IDEAS AND BELIEFS TO ENSURE OUR SAFETY, BELONGING, AND DIGNITY. ALTHOUGH HOW WE HAVE LEARNED TO REACT AND SHAPE OURSELVES MAY HAVE SERVED A PURPOSE AT ONE POINT OF OUR LIVES, WE MAY NOTICE THAT IT NO LONGER SERVES US IN THE NOW. IN FACT, THESE LIMITING, OUTDATED NARRATIVES ARE ACTUALLY HOLDING US BACK FROM LIVING IN OUR HIGHEST AND MOST NATURAL FORM OF AUTHENTIC SENSUAL SELF EXPRESSION. 

THROUGH BUILDING SOMATIC AWARENESS WE CAN BEGIN TO IDENTIFY HOW WE HAVE SHAPED OURSELVES INTO THE EMBODIMENT OF THESE BELIEFS. THROUGH DANCE AND MOVEMENT WE CAN BEGIN TO OPEN OURSELVES UP TO EXPLORE AND BRING INTO ACTION THE NEW STORIES AND NARRATIVES THAT BETTER SERVE HOW WE TRULY WANT TO BE WITNESSED IN OUR SKIN AND SELF EXPRESSION. THROUGH THE BODY WE CAN BEGIN TO LIBERATE OURSELVES FROM THE STORIES WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT HAVE IMPACTED THE WAYS WE DECIDE TO LIVE AND EXPRESS OUR LIVES.  

IN THIS PROGRAM WE WILL PRACTICE BUILDING SOMATIC AWARENESS TO CONNECT TO OUR SENSATIONS, EMOTIONS, AND FEELINGS; LEARNING HOW THEY INFORM US ABOUT OUR CURRENT EMBODIED NARRATIVES. WE WILL BE USING DANCE AS THE VEHICLE TO TRAIN AND PRACTICE NEW MOVEMENT AND ACTION THAT WILL EXPAND OUR RESILIENCE, EXPLORE PLEASURE, AND DANCE NEW NARRATIVES INTO AN EMBODIED STATES OF BEING.


WE ARE GOING TO DO THIS BY - 

  • ENGAGING IN SOMATIC GROUNDING AND AWARENESS BUILDING EXERCISES

  • EXPLORE QUESTIONS AND REFLECT FROM A BODY BASED AWARENESS RATHER THAN THE FROM THE A COGNITIVE/RATIONAL PROCESS.

  • IDENTIFY EMBODIED NARRATIVES AND CURRENT SHAPE 

  • CREATE A COMMITMENT TOWARDS WHAT WE WANT TO CREATE AND CULTIVATE AND USE MOVEMENT AS THE VEHICLE TO MOVE TOWARDS THAT EMBODIMENT. 

  • LEARN A SHORT AND SIMPLE CHOREO. I WANT TO BE CLEAR THAT THIS CHOREO IS NOT FOCUSED ON PERFECT EXECUTION. THIS IS A BASIC BLUEPRINT FOR YOU TO PRACTICE EMBODYING EMOTION THROUGH MOVEMENT. THIS ALSO GIVES YOU AN OPPORTUNITY TO ALSO LISTEN TO AND WITNESS THE INTERNAL STORIES YOU TELL YOURSELF WHEN YOU ARE LEARNING SOMETHING NEW; OR THAT MAY BE OUTSIDE OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE.
